Nordic Lens Photography logo featuring a viking helmet, aura lights that are the Northern Lights

I’m Rob, the photographer behind Nordic Lens. I started taking photos because I couldn’t stop noticing the little moments happening around me. Everywhere I go, I’m drawn to the people, the places, the way light interacts with surroundings ….I feel it all.

I’m fascinated by the way a place feels…the people, the streets, the little things you might walk right past if you aren’t paying attention. There is always a vibe, a heartbeat to the moment. Shooting with intention is a core philosophy. Why am I raising my camera? What makes this moment special? Can and will this matter in 25 years? I don’t raise my camera and smash the shutter…every click is purposeful and feeds my “why”.

That’s what I love about photography. It gives me a reason to slow down and really observe a space and time. A reflection in a window. Someone laughing on a city street. The way light hits a subject in a portrait. A quiet moment between people. Sometimes it’s planned. More often, it isn’t.

Whether I’m wandering the streets of Seattle, exploring somewhere halfway around the world, or photographing someone’s senior portraits, I’m looking for the same thing: something real.

I don’t want my photos just to show you what something looked like. I want them to remind you what it felt like to be there.

That’s what I’m chasing with every frame.

My why:

Stylized signature of the name "Rob" in white on a black background.
Black and white photo of a bearded man with styled hair in a dimly lit, blurred interior setting.
